Lakeview New Orleans
The Lakeview area of New Orleans is one of the most desirable areas of the city. This residential section of town is far enough away from the other touristy or trendy areas to have a real neighborhood, family feel to it. The area is very upscale and homes can reach into the multi-million dollar price range.
The northern boundary of Lakeview is situated along Lake Pontchartrain. Running about 4 miles along Lake Pontchartrain is Lakeshore Drive. This wide street divides this beautiful park like area in two. The lake side of the street is where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lake complete with sailboats and other watercraft. On the opposite side of Lakeshore Drive is where you’ll find a long stretch of green space complete with Mardi Gras fountain, picnic shelters and many places for people to strike up a game of football, volleyball, frisbee or just sit and enjoy the scenery.
Another huge asset of this area is it’s proximity to City Park. City Park is the 87th largest and 20th-most-visited urban public park in the United States. City Park is approximately 50% larger than Central Park in New York. This amazing park is home to the New Orleans Museum of Art which houses an impressive collection of works of art. A sculpture garden next door is where visitors can stroll through this huge green space full of famous sculptures. City Park offers something for everyone with its Botanical Gardens, jogging paths, tennis courts, Carousel Gardens amusement park, nature trails, golf courses and much much more!
